Founder and CEO at Laura Casas Holistic Design

Social media is a tool that increasingly aids us in monetizing and selling our products and services. With this in mind, we sought someone experienced in the field, willing to share their secrets and tips. In this episode of “Conversations in The Lobby,” we were joined by Laura Casas. She’s the Founder and CEO of Laura Casas Holistic Design. During our conversation, she shared her experience on how to sell and how she enhanced her brand and company through social media. For her, social media is the perfect connection point with your clients.

What Laura Shared with us

Our first question for Laura was: What are the beginnings of using social media to boost a brand?

Her response was enlightening, shedding light on the realistic aspect of social media: not everything is as it seems. Outward appearances might convey a sense of structure, success, and simplicity, but in reality, boosting your brand through social media demands tremendous effort and dedication. Laura explained that her social media platforms are her “ally and right hand” for promoting her brand and fostering closer connections with clients. However, this necessitates significant daily commitment.

Following this response, we delved into how her brand, Laura Casas Holistic Design, carries her name and directly represents her. The benefit she sees in this is that followers and potential clients can forge a deeper connection with the brand, feeling its proximity. On the flip side, it can mean that clients expect her personal attention in all aspects of her company’s services, given that she is the face of the company. To counterbalance this, she has implemented a strategy of showcasing her entire team on social media and revealing a substantial part of her studio’s processes.

How do you Humanize a Brand through Social Media

To this, she responded that the key lies in understanding that behind a brand there are humans and emotions. Thus, the most important thing is to appear as genuine and authentic as possible, to connect with people and their emotions. This authenticity is what truly allows her followers to get to know her and feel close and identified with her content. Creating connections! This is connected to sales, as subconsciously in the minds of your followers, when they need a product or service like what you offer, you’ll be the first person they think of.

“Many people are born with that desire and personality traits that aid them in selling, traits that are often established from a young age. A salesperson needs to be deeply passionate about what they’re selling for the sale to be genuine. However, there are numerous tools that can help you refine the art of selling.”

How do you Segment your Clients within your Social Media Audience?

For Laura, the most important aspect is how she conveys information. She explains that she addresses all her followers similarly but always, in her posts, keeps the ultimate purpose in mind: promoting her design and space remodeling services. She communicates these messages through tips, but her strength lies in the fact that if someone finds her tip useful today but doesn’t yet need her services, they will remember her and consider her when that need arises.

Are Salespeople Born or Made?

For her, it’s a bit of both. Many people are born with the desire and personality traits that help them sell, traits that often manifest from childhood. A salesperson must be profoundly passionate about what they’re selling for the sale to be authentic. However, there are numerous tools that can help you refine the art of selling. For her, the initial part is innate, the ability to connect with that inborn purpose, and the second part involves tools that assist in achieving that purpose.
